PopStar Award Presentation

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi and the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum will honor Mississippi’s top high school athletes with an award in honor of late inductee W. C. “Pop” Allen, long time high school athletic director for the Jackson Public Schools and National High School Athletic Director of the Year
in 1981.

The only gathering of the year anywhere in the state with Mississippi's best high school athletes in all sanctioned sports from both the public and private school ranks as determined by the sports staff of the Jackson Clarion-Ledger.

These honorees will be selected by a statewide panel of sports media voters who will narrow the field to the top three athletes in all 22 high school sports. A second and final vote will be taken to select the number one athlete in each sport. The winners will be announced
that evening at a presentation held at the Museum.
