Michael Jordan
currently envelopes Michael Jordan at the Russell C. Davis Planetarium in Jackson, MS.

The Planetarium and the Museum are promotional partners during the run of Michael Jordan to the Max, a 50-minute film being offered on the Planetarium's large-format theatre screen, the only screen of it's size in Mississippi.

Jordan's gigantic screen acrobatics are visually riveting but it's his personal revelations that offer viewers the greatest insights into Jordan's character.

The five-time NBA MVP says his legendary work ethic was fueled by getting cut from his high school team as a tenth grader. He also spoke of the violent death of his father in 1993. Former players, coaches, journalists and family members also offered perspective into Jordan's talent and drive.

"When the Planetarium asked if we wanted to be involved, we thought it was a slam dunk," said Museum Executive Director Michael Rubenstein."It's really a great production and it's our first cooperative effoort with the Planetarium.

"If you purchase a ticket at the Planetarium, you will receive a voucher that discounts your ticket at the MSHOF and visa versa," said Museum staff member Lulu Maness, who has been coordinating the promotion for the Museum.

Show times are Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m.;Friday 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.;and, Saturday and Sunday 4:00 p.m..Tickets are $5.50 for adults and $4.00 for children and seniors. Group discounts are available and group reservations are required. For more information, contact the Planetarium at 601-960-1550.
