Georgia NASCAR Museum Struggling
While the privately-funded Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is celebrating its seventh anniversary on July 4, 2003,other museums are not faring so well.

The Florida Sports Hall of Fame is closed and a year-old NASCAR museum located in a hotbed of racing is $10,000,000 in debt.

Memories Abound for 1960 Rebels
At Coach John Vaught's command, the 1960 Ole Miss Rebels assumed the position at the Museum recently.
18 Members of Ole Miss' 1960 national championship football team met the public and signed treasured mementoes Wednesday November 13, 2002 at the Museum.

Among those in attendance were Head Coach Johnny Vaught, now 93, and All-American backfield mates Jake Gibbs and Billy Ray Adams.

A commemorative poster produced by Champions Mark was on sale but fans also brought long-preserved game tickets, programs, books and magazines for signing, as well.

"I love 'em all," Vaught said of his players prior to the start of the signing session.

Delta State University Alumni Recognize Champions
Delta State University alumni from the metro Jackson area gathered at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum recently to recognize and unveil pictures of their past six Division II national championship cheerleader squads and one current swimmer.
