Some 250 outdoor conservationists socialized, listened and bid in support of the Delta Waterfowl Foundation Thursday November 21, 2002 at the Museum. The fundraiser was sponsored by the Jackson Chapter of the DWF.
Organizers hope to make the auction and dinner an annual event. "Our first banquet was a roaring success," said Harden Phillips, Chairman of the DWF's Jackson Chapter.
Attendees heard from Michael Nevins, DWF's Director of Event Fundraising in Bismarck, North Dakota.
The auction consisted of a variety of weapons, art and hunting trips, culminating with a 6 hunter trip to Pica Zuro Lodge in Cordoba, Argentina.
The mission statement of the Delta Waterfowl Foundation is to provide knowledge, future leaders, solutions and its passion for waterfowl to scientists, resource managers, waterfowlers, conservationists and the public to enhance waterfowl populations while securing the future of waterfowling.
