Roland Marble, the Museum's first and only board member emeritus, died Sunday July 11, 2010 in Jackson, MS. He was 90.

Marble was the longtime secretary to the board. A veteran attorney, he offered invaluable counsel to the board on a variety of legal matters. His late wife Virginia was the first female member of the Museum's 200 Club support group.

"He surprised us when he announced he was retiring from the board at its February meeting," said Museum Executive Director Michael Rubenstein."He said we were the last thing he was giving up."

Visititation will be at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson, MS July 14, 2010 from 5:00pm-8:00pm with services the following day at 10:00am at First Baptist Church. The family designated Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame board members as honorary pallbearers.
