Board Elects New Members at Annual Meeting

of directors President Steve Carmody, who accepted a second term at the recent annual membership meeting of the Mississippi Sports Foundation, Inc. "We are in the midst of establishing an endowment for the Museum and I want to see it through," said Carmody.

Brenda Dyson was elected Vice-President, replacing Ruma Haque who died tragically in a car accident June 20, 2002. "It's an honor to be asked to serve," said Dyson. Treasurer Scott Kimbrough and Secretary Roland Marble still have one year remaining on their terms.

there will be four fresh faces on the board. Jackson, MS native Becky Conley has been an I/T specialist with IBM since 1985. Dr. Alan Freeland, a hand surgeon at the University of Mississippi Medical Center was an active supporter of the Museum even prior to its 1996 opening.Likewise Brian Sims, a geologist from Madison, MS who--along with his son Wade--has been a fixture at Museum events for years.Finally, Jackson, MS native and attorney Cal Wells, the co-chair of the Mississippi Olympic Committee, will also be serving his first term on the board.

Board members are elected by the membership of the Mississippi Sports Foundation, Inc. To serve, an individual needs only to be a member in good standing of the MSF.
